Saturday Mentoring/Tutorial/Computer Lab Program

The chapter has operated the program since approximately 1992.  Approximately 30 students from Baltimore City and Baltimore County Public Schools participate in this program.  All mentors/tutors are members of 100 Black Men of Maryland, Inc., and college students majoring in education or certified teachers.  All students receive free supplies and lunches.  Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland provides class rooms for the program.

  •  In the lower division, approximately fifteen 3rd through 5th grade students receive an hour of English and a hour of math tutoring.

  • In the upper division, approximately twenty 6th grade and above students receive tutoring that includes math, English, socialization and life skills. Many of these students are former students of the lower division.
